During the week preceding the conference, a field school will be offered in geophysics and geochemistry. This field school will provide the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of the latest analytical and practical methods. They will be held in the Sudbury region, well known as a prolific nickel producer but also for platinum group element, gold and diamond exploration.
The field school will take advantage of the strong industry, government and academic geoscience community in Sudbury, as well as a number of exploration service providers and manufacturers from elsewhere. Participants will depart Toronto Sunday evening (September 2) and return Friday evening (September 7). The registration fee includes transportation between Toronto and Sudbury, and to the field sites, participation in field school activities, proceedings in digital and/or hard copy form, five nights' accommodation in Sudbury with breakfast, five boxed lunches and a farewell dinner.
